Our Weekend

What a weekend. Toby and his brother left on Friday morning around 3am for their deer hunt. These guys have been looking forward to their hunt for a while. I asked Toby to wake me up when he left so I could say good bye. Not such a smart thing for me since I was not able to go back to sleep. I was really tired and grumpy by early evening on Friday. I also hurt my knee when looking for my ear buds so I could watch Ugly Betty on the laptop and not have anyone hear me. My knee feels like it is bruised and it is hard to move. I hope I never get arthritis. Granny I think I can sort of feel your pain.

Patty and Jake came to my rescue on Friday afternoon. Grace was in heaven having her Grandpa and Grandma here. Grandma brought Gracie her Halloween costume with her. She is reluctant to wear it, but hopefully, on Wednesday she will put it on with no problems. I was lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa here to help. Grandpa took Mitchell to baseball at 6:30am to have pictures taken and warm up for an 8am game. The other boys and I joined him around 9. We then went to Christopher's football game. Justin went to a 6th grade reunion at the same time as Christophers game. Again, Grandpa to the rescue by staying and watching Chris play.

Saturday was also Christopher's 13th birthday so we went to my mom's for dinner. The boys and Granny watched an episode of the A Team with her and then we had cake. During cake, the power went out. We found all the flash lights and lit candles. The excitement level always rises when the power goes out. Justin went out to investigate and learned that most of the neighborhood was out.

I was dreading Sunday. I thought the boys would be asking all day when Dad was coming home. To my surprise, Toby walked in around 10:30am. Happy Happy Day. He was home early and with a couse deer, sub species of a white tail. Even his brother had one. Good times. The rest of the day was spent in the back yard skinning and quartering the deer. Grace and I watched Cinderella twice.

Happy Birthday

Christopher, I can't believe that you have been with us for 13 years. I remember the early morning call from the hospital that told us to come in for the induction. We arrived at the hospital around 7am and you joined us around 1pm. You were perfect as you are today. I am very proud to call you my son. Have a happy day, I love you.

Mother Natures Farm

Shelley and I took the girls to Mother Natures Farm today. This is a family run like farm that offers pumpkin picking, hay ride and a little play yard.

We took a hay ride around the farm, which is in the middle of the city, and was dropped off at the pig pen. It stunk to the high heavens. I was having some sinus issues, however, after getting off the trailer I was breathing clear. This is also where they put the rotten pumpkins to feed the pigs. P.U.

After the hay ride we went to pick out our pumpkin or as Grace would say a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo. We took our pumpkins to a small table that had stickers and markers for the kids to decorate the pumpkins with.

After the girls decorated their pumpkins we headed over to the bouncer and play houses. Kylie went into the bouncer and Grace into the houses. There was a little girl in the playhouse who got very upset when Grace went in. I didn't think to much about it except, what a brat. Anyways, about 5 or 6 kids came in and played and then left, this little girl then proceeded to push Grace out the front door and off the porch. She hit her forehead on the porch.

Shelley bought the girls a snow cone and then we headed home. Thanks for another fun day Shelley.

Little Miss Sunshine

Miss Grace had her first "real" haircut today. She has had her bangs trimmed twice, but she did not really cooperate. Today, with Shelley's help, I took her to Snip-its and she received a beautiful cut. Equipped with a sucker and her own personal bubble blower she sat still and let the hair stylist do her job. I was impressed with Snip-its and will go back again. Thanks again Shelley for the photos....and your friendship.

My son goes to Mexico and all he brings me back is

Justin went to Mexico with his best bud Ben and family. They left on Tuesday evening and drove to Yuma to meet the rest of Ben's family and then drove to a "secret" spot on the beach and tent camp.

On Thursday, Justin was riding the quad up the dunes when his quad started losing power so he decided to go back down. While he did his foot slipped off the pedal and then proceeded to run over his ankle and calf.

We (Toby and I ) were worried that the cut was infected and his ankle might be hurt, so I took him to the doctor and all was ok. We did get an antibiotic cream, but no broken bones.

I would have preferred some sea shells instead of a $45 doctor bill. Boys.

New Puppies

A friend of mine has a dog who had puppies last night and of course I couldn't resist going over and seeing them. How cute were they? Cute enough to say I would take one or two?

H*ll No!!!

I hope to use them as photo props for Christmas.

An Email from Grace

I just got home from Ikea. Met Shelley and Kylie for lunch. This was waiting for me in my inbox when I got home.

Hi Mom, its me Gracie.....I'm sitting on grandma jakes lap trying to reach everything I can.....she gave me a pen a pad to write on and a little bag for jewelry that I am wearing on my hand like a glove......I have written all over it too...

Grandma gave me a bath in her kitchen sink last night then I took a nap....I fooled them, they thought I was down for the night.....then I got back up and was ready to play...

I laid down with Chris and he put me to bed in my playpen at 11 and I slept all night......Grandma and I had cinnamon rolls ( sorry we ate them Chris) and eggs for breakfast.....

Did you know that Grandma has a phone I am not suppose to talk on and so does Grandpa.?...there are so many phones around this house, they gave me an old one to play with but I can't keep them straight which one I can play with....and if you punch a certain button on grandpas phone it rings, and a man says no messages....I pushed that button a lot last night, and he just kept telling me no messages, and then I got fast enuf when I pushed it he would just say no.....no....no.....everybody laughed at me....

Chris just came back from using his pellet gun......and Mitch is going to play with me.....see you tonight, love you and miss you Gracie..

.ps I keep looking down the hall and pointing to grandma and saying Mama? ? I found a book of pictures with you and daddy in it so I look in there alot....and I can say Roger when I see uncle Roger......

Love Bug

If you have been to my house in the last 19 months you have seen a Volkswagen Baja Bug parked off to the side. This bug belongs to my brother in law, Roger. Toby had/has the best intention of painting this car for Rog. It was to be a birthday present in 2006. Well, life got in the way and he wasn't able to complete it before Roger's birthday and so it has sat in my side yard since. Toby and the boys go and tinker with cleaning up this and that and Toby is painting it in parts.

Grace came out last week and found a whole new toy. She will stand by the door and beg to go play in the car. I found her and Toby out there today and had to take some pictures.

Rog, I promise this will be done before your birthday '08.

This Week

Mitch was on fall break this week and I really enjoyed it. I am so thankful that I don't have to start shuttling kids around to and from school for more then a week. My gas tank says Thank You too.

On Monday, Mitch and I went to Kiwanis Park and played with Grace. Grace likes finding the highest slide and climb to the top. She always comes down with a smile on her face. Monday night we all watched a little of the Rockies/Padre game. Mitch and I had to find an alternative method of watching when Hero's came on. We found Game Day on MLB.Com and listened to the San Diego announcers.

Mitch enjoyed the park so much on Monday that he wanted to try another one on Tuesday. I took them over to Desert Breeze. Desert Breeze had better equipment for a 9 1/2 year old then Kiwanis. I had to work in the evening. Not sure what everyone did.

Wednesday was Kindermusik for Grace. Mitch was a real trooper. I think he enjoyed playing the instruments with all the other toddlers. When we got home Grandpa was here. Mitch and Grandpa started watching baseball around noon and didn't finish until the DBacks won later in the evening. Roger came over to watch the game with us. Grandma had chemo during the day, but was home early afternoon to play and watch Cinderella. Grandma brought us dinner, bbq meatballs and her layered salad, it was the best. I hope to return the favor this upcoming week. Justin ran his first football practice tonight. I wish I had gone to take some pictures, maybe next week. Good job Justin. We are proud of you.

Thursday we hung out with Grandpa and Grandma. Mitch and Grandpa watched more baseball after a short trip to the hardware store. Grandma and I made it to the grocery store. Chris had another cross country meet in the afternoon. The skies opened up and poured while he was running which must have made him run faster. His time was 10 min and some seconds. He ran a different course the he found easier. Congrats Son, I wish I could have seen it.

Friday I took the boys to the zoo. They didn't seem happy to be there until I bought them their own Dr. Pepper. It was very windy, but still very warm. It was amazing what a cool drink did for their personality. They were having a competition to see who could take the most unique pictures. Chris went over to Connor's house to spend the night. Mitch had Alex come here. Alex and Mitch have been playing some sort of ball game in the backyard, playing Madden on Xbox went to the Marco's football game. It is 8:30am and both are still sleeping. :)

It was a good week. Besides a little runny nose from Grace and a sore throat for Justin everyone was good. I love weeks like this.

X Country

My Christopher runs Cross Country for Fee's Middle School and has done very well. He has had two meets with other Tempe middle schools and has had a time of 12min 45sec for both meets. He will disagree and say that his second meet was a shorter time, but the officals marked him at 12:45. I say that is awesome since it would take me about 12 hours and 45 min to run a mile and a half. Good job Critter! I'm so proud of you.

Bring Down Chi Town

Diamondbacks have brought us lots of entertainment over the summer. We hope we can be enteretained until late October!!! Go Dbacks!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Granny

Friday, Sept. 28th was my Granny's 89th birthday. She was out of town on her birthday so we celebrated later that weekend. Sunday night we went to Si Senior's for dinner. Company was great. Food was good and service was poor. Anyways, Granny enjoyed her gifts of a quilted tote bag, See's Candies and a DVD set that hasn't arrived yet(1st season of A TEAM, picked out by the boys). I love having my Granny and Mom live down the street from us and being able to see them daily. Happy Birthday Granny, I love you.

Sept. 28th is also my sisters birthday. Laura, I hope you enjoy your day at the tea house. I wish I could go with you. I love you sis!
