Thank You Grandma

Grandma Jake made Gracie a 'Rella book. She loves it! Thanks so much Gamma. Can't wait to see my 'Rella dress. I love you. Grace.

No, those aren't sprinkles

in my carmel dip. It is what it looks like....ants. GROSS!!!! I was totally looking forward to my apple and carmel dip. I've left an email with customer service. It is not my day today.

Cell Phones

When did we get so dependent on them? I have just fought with Sprint to remove charges that we didn't ring up. I have asked for all our phones to have the internet blocked so we wouldn't have surprise charges. I was told on Friday that they were not blocked and Justin has been logged on since 8/14 ringing up $53.00 worth of charges. What? I was instructed to bring his phone into a Sprint store and they would verify that if his phone was on the internet or not. So today we went to the store and salesperson laughed and said "I can't do that". Does anyone know what they are doing at Sprint?

The store girl calls CS again and goes around and around saying that the internet is blocked on this phone and he couldn't have made the charges. CSR tells her, no the internet has been blocked since Friday when I called in. ARRGGGHHHHH....look at our history, we are NOT an internet/downloading/picturesending/ring tone buy/game playing family. Just credit me the $53. Can't do that, but will give you 100 free minutes. That only totals $10 I want $53 removed from my bill. Finally, the salesperson finds in our history when I called back in May to block the internet so I did get the credit. Thank You. But really, does it really need to get to this point? You can't just charge people for things they didn't use and then offer then some completely irrelevant to make it better. I know everyone had a cell phone horror store and please vent if needed. I just wish we could back to not needing them so much, but I know that will never be the case again.

Friday Afternoon Fun

Today was a half day of school for both Mitch and Chris. Mitch invited his good friend, Josh, over to play the Wii. I was able to stop by Hollywood Video and rent Carnival Games for them to play. What a fun and addictive game. They are very excited as I type this about the dunk tank game. I'm thankful that Josh was able to come home with us this afternoon and for him and Mitch to get some male bonding time. Chris seems to be enjoying himself too.

He passed my test

I just got off the phone with Justin. Here was our conversation:

Me: So you ready to be picked up?
Him: Yeah!
Me: Would it be wrong for me to leave Grace here sleeping on the floor?
Him: Ahh....yeah!
Me: Why? She is sleeping.
Him: Because we would be gone for about an hour.
Me: She probably would stay asleep that long.
Him: Or she might not.

I'm glad he answered every question right. I was wondering if he was taking this big brother thing serious.

Game Ball

Mitchell won the game ball for last nights baseball game. The A's played the Diamondbacks and won with a score of 5 to 3. Guess who had 5 RBI's????? Yes, my boy. He had two doubles to bring in all the runs scored by the A's. Unfortunatly, he didn't ever get to score himself, but 5 RBI's.....wow. His blackeye is looking better and better each day. Mitchell I wish I could have been there to see you hit. I'm so proud of you.

TWIB

I once received an email with this title and it took me a few minutes to figure it out. This Week In Baseball was a wild and wacky one. Thursday night (9/20) Mitch was catching a ball that some how jumped out of his glove and landed on his eye brow. I unfortunately was not there because of work, but Dad said he never shed a tear. The other players and parents were pretty impressed with both the black eye and his threshold for pain.
He went on to play the game and did ok. I think he walked and struck out. I think if I had been there, I might not have let him played, so I guess it was good that I was at work. Saturday's game was fun. Grandma and Grandpa Jake were here. The A's won again, so our record is 3-0. Way to go A's.

Zoo Trip

Yesterday we went to the zoo with our friends. Kylie wanted to hold Grace's hand, which was a first. Shelly thought it might be Kylie's way of using her "big" sisters skills that she will never, ever be able to use in real life. Grace is just happy to have someone to play with. We saw a great variety of animals. It was still a tad warm outside, but it was nice to do something other then go to Target. The geese were getting a little to close for comfort during our snack.

Hey Kylie! Next time we go to the zoo, lets head to the Kids Zoo!!

My Commute

While I was driving home tonight I was thinking how much fun my commute really is. I get to go pass an upscale spa, a biker bar, 3 McDonalds, 2 strip clubs, I go under one freeway and over another. I drive over a lake. I pass right through a major University and by a Dunkin Doughnuts that is making the doughnuts as I pass by. Do you have any idea how good those doughnuts smell at 10:30 at night? I do enjoy driving down Scottsdale Rd with my window rolled down. Tonight I was treated to a gentleman singing "Jump" by Van Halen in his SUV at a red light. Maybe it is because I am all by myself for a few minutes, but it is pretty cool.

Healing Fields

I took Grace to the Healing Fields today. I was surprised at how emotional it was for me. I tried to explain to Grace what the flags represented, only so I wouldn't forget myself. She of course had no clue what I was saying and wanted to do toddler things instead. It was warm and the wind was blowing. All of the flags stood tall and proud.

We all have our stories of where we were when.....but the one thing I remember from that awful time was how there was no air traffic. So today, Grace and I sat by the waters edge of Tempe Town Lake and waved to the airplanes that flew overhead. I hope she will never have to live a day when no planes are in the sky to wave at.

We are family

We were lucky to have visitors this summer.

Mitchell rubbing Aunt Edna's head for good luck during a Zilch game. If I remember correctly, Christopher won that round.
Aunt Edna met us in Vegas for Aunt Jennifer's wedding, then went to Montana with Grandpa for a few weeks and finally here for a few more. We love how we get to play games with her when she visits. Some of the games are Chicken Foot, Zilch and any card game.

Uncle Chuck and Aunt Jan came from North Carolina. Chris and Mitch had the best time playing Texas Hold'Em with them. Chuck was spouting off one liners like..."is that your age or your IQ?" and "are you sitting on your brain?" The boys thought he was the funniest thing they had ever met.

Aunt Carol Ann came home with Grandpa and Edna. We enjoyed visiting with her and hearing her stories of her grand daughter, Brooklyn. She was a great distraction for Grandma for 3 weeks. Grandma said she now she will only have Grandpa to talk to since everyone is gone.
Aunt Debe came from Texas for a week, but can you believe I didn't get a picture of her. I hope everyone comes back soon.

Better late then never

I was going to try my best to keep this blog up to date with current pictures and happenings about us. I guess better late then never. Here are some pictures from our theatre this summer.

Mitch was a few charaters in Rummy Staker Love Fest.
